Innovative Course Design Using Digital Stories

Erickson School of Aging Partners with New Media Studio

A partnership between the Office of Undergraduate Education, Erickson School of Aging, and DoIT's New Media Studio resulted in a introductory course that connected students with residents of the Charlestown retirement community.

Students in the course, mostly freshmen and first-semester transfer students were paired with Charlestown residents to produce a digital story capturing a life lesson learned. As part of this effort, students were taught the technology skills necessary to produce a digital story.
