Downtime Complete

To all HPC users,

The DoIT Research Computing Team has completed the downtime scheduled for today. Over the course of the downtime, the team was able to accomplish the following:

  • Created additional, load-balanced login nodes for redundancy
  • Fixed lingering software module issues
  • Moved critical cluster services onto dedicated hardware for resilience
  • Implemented changes to the Slurm GPU allocation process based on suggestions made by researchers serving as a part of the new Shared Infrastructure Governance processes

Please be aware that the changes to the login nodes may result in messages about the “known_hosts” file. These messages are expected for the first login after the changes. Follow terminal-provided instructions or reach out to us via RT for any related issue.

Thank you all for your patience as we worked through these changes.

As always, let us know if you notice any issues or otherwise have questions or concerns by submitting a descriptive help request form found at the following link.

Thanks for reading,
